Hi Guys,
First things first:
PIAF: 2.0.6.3
FreePBX: 2.10.1.16
Asterisk: 1.8.20.1
CentOS: 6.3 (final) Kernel: 2.6.32-1.2.0.1.e16.i686 - 32 Bit
A strange thing happened to me, because of a mistake i did. What i did was to update CentOS the normal way you would update it, which I think was a big mistake.
After the update the kernel takes 78% of the /boot partition but that is not the problem.
The problem is Asterisk stopped reloading itself and I stopped receiving the nightly fail2ban emails telling me the server has rebooted. Also fail2ban stopped working properly, meaning its status says "ONLINE" and it is there, but it just isn't banning IPs no more. If i manually "amportal restart" , then fail2ban starts working (banning IPs) for a day or two and then stops to do that.
I ran "update programs" then "update fixes" hoping that this will resolve the issue but it didn't.
If anyone knows why or have a suggestion please let me know as I have searched for days and couldn't find an answer.
I would like to let you know that i am more of a GUI user than a Console one.
Thank you,
Lex
